摘要:Background and Objective The purpose of this clinical paper is to explore the therapeutic effects, healing times, adverse effects, and maintenance periods of using a CO2 fractional laser in the treatment of photoaging in Asian skin. Study Design/Materials and Methods One fractional CO2 laser procedure was performed on the full face in 56 patients with photoaging. Based on the Dover scoring system, we evaluated the degree of skin aging before treatment and at one-month post laser and at five years post laser therapy in 30 of the patients. Statistical analysis was performed by the Wilcoxon's method. Results Thirty of the treated patients have had follow-up for 5 years at this time. The photoaging scores in these thirty patients were significantly changed (P < 0.01) at one month, one year, and five years after the fractional laser treatment, as compared with their baseline. Adverse events seen during this analysis were found to be minimal and not of clinical significance. Conclusions Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing in the treatment of photoaging in Asians is a useful modality with results, for the first time, being shown to have continued efficacy for up to 5 years. 摘要:Ethnopharmacological relevance The diabetic wound is one of the common chronic complications of diabetes, which seriously affects patients’ quality of life and even causes disability and death. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a unique and precious resource in China, which has a good curative effect and safety. At present, it has been found that Chinese herbal compounds and effective active ingredients can effectively promote diabetic wound healing, and its mechanism needs to be further studied. Signaling pathways are involved in the pathogenesis and progression of diabetic wounds, which is one of the main targets for the pathologic mechanism of diabetic wounds and the pharmacological research of therapeutic drugs. Aim of the review This study has been carried out to reveal the classical signaling pathways and potential targets by the action of TCM on diabetic wound healing and provides evidence for its clinical efficacy. Materials and methods “diabetic wound”, “diabetic foot ulcer”, “traditional Chinese medicine”, “natural plant” and “medicinal plant”, were selected as the main keywords, and various online search engines, such as PubMed, Web of Science, CNKI and other publication resources, were used for searching literature. Results The results showed that TCM could regulate the signaling pathways to promote diabetic wound healing, such as Wnt, Nrf2/ARE, MAPK, PI3K/Akt, NF-κB, Notch, TGF-β/Smad, HIF-1α/VEGF, which maintaining inflammatory interaction balance, inhibiting oxidative stress and regulating abnormal glucose metabolism. Conclusion The effect of TCM on diabetic wound healing was reflected in multiple levels and multiple pathways. It is envisaged to carry out further research from precision-targeted therapy, provide ideas for screening the core target of TCM in treating diabetic wounds and create modern innovative drugs based on this target.
摘要:Methodology: This is a retrospective study that includes reviewing the electronic prescriptions that included MEBO among the patients who received medications from the outpatient department in a public hospital in Alkharj. Results: More than 61% of the patients who received MEBO ointment were female patients and about 61.98% of them received MEBO ointment for 1 week. Most of the prescribers were residents (76.86%). More than 46% of the prescriptions were prescribed by emergency department, about 24% were prescribed by plastic surgery department. Conclusion: The use of MEBO ointment in the outpatient setting in Alkharj was uncommon. Further studies are needed to explore the pattern of using burn treating ointments such as MEBO ointment in the outpatient setting and in other settings.
摘要:Objectives: To examine the pattern, nature, and attitude towards herbal medicines usage in the UAE. Methods: A cross-sectional national questionnaire was distributed over five weeks in 7 emirates of UAE: The questioner was constructed using an online platform and delivered randomly to 448 adults in the UAE. The data collection technique adopted for this study was a convenient sampling. SPSS version 24 was used for statistical analysis. Results: Among participants, 98.7% used herbal medicines (HMs), and respondents who aged between 18 and 24 years were more likely to use HMs. Participant were mainly female (70.3%), with fair health status (55%), and participant with chronic disease were significantly less likely to use HM (10.9%). The majority of herbal medicine users believed herbal medicine were harmless, because they were derivatives of natural products. The findings of this study reported that many participants use HMs to enhance immunity (26.8%), and for relaxation (23.5%). Conclusion: Despites the risk of adverse-effects, many participants in this study are regular users for HMs and have perception that 89 may cure or prevent COVID-19. Therefore, awareness-raising campaigns that target HM users are essential to mitigate any unwanted consequences.
